Top party officials will not be permitted to hold a position of trust in Government or on public boards.
Public Boards and Agencies should be headed by competent civil servants or professionals who are experts in their fields - not by MPs
This will allow MPs to focus on their constituencies and their legislative and parliamentary duties
Membership on government boards of Members of Parliament may indeed give rise to conflict of interests. The conduct of MPs should not only be correct but also manifestly so. Honesty, probity and integrity as well as transparency should be the highlights of good governance.
Public Boards should never be headed by MP's. Stop the situation where a lawyer heads the planning authority and an architect runs the civil liberties board. Appoint only professionals in each field, but not cronies. They must be agreed upon by the two thirds vote.
