Clean energy is produced by turbines placed on the sea floor because of water currents. They are not an eye sore, they cannot harm migratory birds and obviously reduces costs in the long run.
Whilst I am all for clean energy, this may not be the most suitable alternative, given we don't experience ocean currents in the Med. I suspect maintenance costs in such a corrosive environment might also outweigh their benefit.
